CCS Girl Basketball Success (Please return all Jerseys ASAP!!!)

CCS Girl Basketball Success Last Friday.  CCS had the grade 6 and 7 girl basketball teams in the final four tournament at the Richmond Oval and both teams played fantastic. A narrow loss was the result of their semi-final games and in the consolation final the grade 6 girls were victorious.  A nail bitter gr 7 girl game did not result in a win but the game was well fought.  We are so proud of your dedication and wish you the best with your future basketball efforts.  Hard! Smart! Together! GO CCS!!!

Gr 5, 6, 7 Girls Soccer Begins this Wednesday and Thursday

The Girls soccer season is once again upon us and as the sun begins to shine a little longer each day I am excited at the opportunity to once again get outside on the field.  Our coaches will be Junior (Miss Losito and Coach Ryan) and Senior (Miss Paraiso and Coach Nelson Sandu).  Permission slips (with game days and times) will be confirmed once the season schedule is available. Practices will be posted on the school website calendar and updated there. All practices are to be held at Cloverdale Athletic Park (3-4:30pm unless otherwise noted. )

We will be on Field #1 near the tennis courts.

Our first practices are Wed March 7th and Thursday March 8th @ 3-4:30pm.

Final Four Basketball Championships for Gr 6 and 7 girls tomorrow

No Practices last week of school before the Christmas Break.

The last week of school there will be NO PRACTICES

We start back right away in January.  The first practice is the first day of school with the Gr 6 girls Monday, Jan 8th at 7:45am.  The regular practice schedule continues in January and February.

Basketball Before During and Afternoon Schedule for Nov 27th to Dec 15 (the next 3 weeks, January and February)

Morning and Lunch Time Practices begin next week.  Now there are at least 2 practices for each team.  The season will be interrupted somewhat during the Christmas Concert Practices as the gym will be set up with the stage.  Your coach will inform you at practice if a practice will be happening between Dec 8th and Christmas Break.  Click on the "Term 2 Basketball Practice Schedule" to the right on Mr K's Blog.

Games begin in January and we will continue to practice with the term 2 schedule as we will do the next 2 weeks.  The January game schedule will be available online the last week of school before the break and in permission slips that go home with athletes.

CISVA Cross-Country meet is this Wednesday at Swangard Stadium

Wednesday, Oct. 4^th                                                                    Time: 10:45-2pm

See race times below. Your departure time should be 1 ½ hours before your race time. Example: if you are in the Intermediate Fun Run you need to leave CCS at 10:30am.

The CISVA Cross-Country meet is at Swangard Stadium 3883 Imperial St, Burnaby. This is a rain or shine event so dress your child appropriately. This meet has an Age Specific Competitive Race and a Fun Run. Four students have been selected to compete in the competitive run (with the option of the Fun Run, if they have enough energy to do so).  All other runners will take part in the Fun Run. Cross Country Coaches have selected and informed the runners that will participate in the competitive race.  The distances of the run will be the same regardless of the race your child runs.

After your child’s race you may head home but please sign out with the Coaches.

On race day please follow these 5 steps:

1.     Drive to Swangard Stadium. 

2.     Check in with your coach near the CCS banner in the stadium stands. 

3.     Run your race. 

4.     Check out! All runners are encouraged to cheer on our athletes before and after their race.

**There is some parking next to the stadium but also off Boundary Rd or Imperial Street.  There is a little walk to the stadium from these locations so plan ahead.
