CCS teams prepare for the basketball playoffs

Congrats to both the gr 7 boys and girls teams that won their IC delta tournaments over the last couple of weeks.  Both teams are beginning to show growth and preparation for the playoffs.

I am proud to say that our gr 6 and 7 boys and our gr 7 girls teams will be entering the playoffs sometime next week.  Best of luck to them all!

CCS bball teams look good... Thanks coaches and teachers too!

While I haven't been to see all teams play yet this year the feedback I hear from their coaches is reassuring.  Once again the students of our school are demonstrating that Hard, Smart, and Together players help teams grow.  Of the teams I have watched I was impressed by their attitude and skill.  There are quite a few grade 7s that should have a good shot at playing high school ball next year.  While I struggle with being both coach and ref at this time of year I am happy whenever I see a student do something that they have been working hard at or try something that they are uncomfortable with.  It is good to make the most of opportunities here at CCS.  Also, 3 cheers to the coaches and teachers who support our basketball program.

Basketball Update

Team practices were off to a good start this week.  Players have been practicing basic skills (ball handling, passing, left and right hand layups).  Get excited for a shooting clinic at CCS put on by HC students and coach on Thursday, Dec 20th.  Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Basketball Team Practices begin Nov 26th

Please be advised that basketball team practices with team coaches will begin Monday November 26th before school, at lunchtimes and after school.  Attendance is important to the development of our teams and individual skills.  If you cannot make it to a practice please inform the coach well ahead of the date.  Also, check the links on the PE blog to get your practice days and times!

Gr 5 Girls v-ball playoffs

The playoffs were cut short for our gr 5 girls yesterday as they fell to a good team from north of the Fraser.  Our undefeated season was a highlight of the year in addition to the focused and fun practices.  Thanks to the coaches for their commitment.
