Basketball Games on School Calendar/Practices on Athletics Blog

It is once again the wonderful time of the year when CCS prepares for basketball.  Gr 5-7 Boys and Girls Basketball permissions (and game schedule view on school calendar) will go home later this week.  Please return your permission as soon as possible.  Attached will be a practice schedule (also found online on the Athletics blog) so please make note on your calendars the days you will be practicing as there may be days there are No Practices.
Attendance at practices is important!  Here is a copy of the Athletics contact that students commit to when they join CCS teams.

As a member of this team, I will:

* Attend practice and be on time. If I am unable to attend, it is my job to tell the coach before the practice. Missed practices may affect playing time.

* Participate to the best of my ability in practices and games- remember that our aims at Cloverdale Catholic are to play hard, smart and as a team.

* Work on skills at home that will help me to play my sport at a level that is complimentary to my team. If I know I need to work on a certain skill area, I will be willing to put in some work at home to improve that area.

* Treat others with justice- use positive talk to compliment and encourage my teammates. Negative talk kills team spirit.

* Realize that in team sports, the good of the team comes before the good of an individual. Our talents are gifts- we should use them for the Glory of God.

* Realize that the adults involved want the best for you. Respect for coaches, referees and parents are an absolute requirement for membership on CCS teams.

* Understand that during playoffs our goal is to play hard, smart, and as a team.  That means my game time could be more or less than others on our team; regardless I will do my best every time I play.

Congratulations to the gr 6/7 boys soccer team

CCS is proud of the senior boys soccer team that represented our school at the final playoff tournament last Friday.  They demonstrated the teamwork, perseverence and determination that we have come to expect from them.  A big thank you to the head coach Anton for believing in the boys and putting them in a position to find success.  We learned a lot that day and the tournament was a great experience.  We finished 6th out of 26 school.  Well done boys!

If you are interested in more playoff action come out to our gym on Tuesday for a gr 6 girls playoff game vs. St. Joseph the Worker. Also, if your season is over PLEASE RETURN ALL JERSEYS.
